October 15, 2014

I am continuing to work on my applique quilt from P3 Designs 2014 BOM.  This is a very wrinkled picture of it as I am doing the embellishments by machine.  I have 3 of the final borders completed and plan to start the 4th final border later today.  We will be doing some traveling this week so I will be able to work on it in the car.

Here is a picture of a few of my Dear Jane blocks.  These fabrics are totally out of my comfort zone but I found a package of fat quarters that just yelled "Dear Jane" at me.  I have enlarged the 4 1/2 inch blocks to 6 inches but now I am starting to wonder if that was a good idea.  I have almost 40 blocks completed but I do have enough fabric to start over again.  Have to spend some time thinking about that!

Still working on some stash busting, making a few charity quilts, but the stash seems to multiply itself.

I found a lightweight sewing machine, reasonably priced, so I can once again bring a machine to our guild meetings.  We generally work on a block that can be used in a charity quilt and I was feeling badly that I wasn't bringing a heavy machine due to my back problems.  The new machine weighs just 13 pounds and seems to stitch very nicely.  I will spend some time with it tomorrow to get used to its features.

I hope everyone has a great week.  I will not be able to post for the next couple of weeks.

Not sure how you find time to make all those wee charity quilts some one is going to have a smile on their face when they are snuggled under them. 2. Wow! Look at your beautiful applique work. So very gorgeous. I really love your Dear Jane colorway - that's going to be lovely, and I like that it is different from any colorways I've encountered. I really need to quilt mine!!! (The top's been finished for maybe a year now)
